How Quirky plans to sell the smart home to skeptics

The vast middle market of American consumers isn't going connect their home appliances to the Internet in one giant, costly overhaul. It'll happen product by product, person by person, with some careful marketing.

With that in mind, partners Quirky Inc. and General Electric on Tuesday released seven new home appliance products that will work with their device platform Wink, the smart phone app for controlling all those "connected devices."
