Apple Airport Extreme Wireless Networking

Residential Networking and Wireless Networking has become an integral part of Audio Video Systems.  At Central Coast Audio Visual we've been utilizing Apple Airport Extreme's for the majority of our networking needs.  In some of the larger homes or heavy technology based homes we see the number of internet connected devices in the 50+ range.  Without a solid network, the AV system will not run reliably.  Here is a quick list of what we typically utilize when deploying a residential network:

1.) We recommend high speed internet service of at least 25Mbps Down and 4Mbps Up.  This will allow services like YouTube, Netflix, and Pandora plenty of speed for comfortable viewing.

2.) Motorola DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem.

3.) Apple Airport Extreme Router.  (Depending on the size of your home you may need to deploy a number of these throughout the home.)

4.) Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Switch.  (The number of ports will vary depending on how many wired devices your home has and how your house is wired.)

If you need assistance setting up a wireless network through your home, please give us a call.  We can help bring your home up to 2012 networking demands.
